At the ripe age of 9 Ebony taught herself how to produce music via watching YouTube and other online tutorials. By the age f 11 she felt comfortable producing her own music.

According to her interview with the Canadian news outlet Global and Mail, Ebony, began competing in local music competitions, where the competitors closest to her in age would sometimes still be 15- to 20-years her senior.

However, it was when Travis Scott, XXL 2013 Freshman, sent her a message stating they he was going to change her life. Travis had heard Ebony's "Crown" beat and passed it along to Jay-Z.

While Jay-z had no idea who Ebony was or how old she was, the beat made it on the album and the rest is history. While Ebony has yet to meet Jay-Z, the Grammy Award winning rap veteran is rumored to want to meet with her soon.
