In a recent interview, Billy Baldwin shared insights on offering relationship advice to Hailey and Justin Bieber during a challenging period.
Before the pregnancy announcement, speculation arose suggesting that the couple, married for five years, was on the verge of ending their relationship.
But the couple revealed their joyous pregnancy on May 9, along with their renewal of vows to each other in a secluded Hawaiian wedding vow renewal ceremony.
Hailey's uncle, William "Billy" Baldwin, spoke to The Sun on during his presence at an exclusive viewing of the upcoming documentary, Americans With No Address, in New York City.
Billy believes that Hailey and Justin's relationship is complex due to their celebrity status and constant public attention, calling it a "complicated situation."
"The only thing I ever said, not to Justin, but to Hailey, I said, 'Remember, you're in the business and your husband is one of the biggest pop stars in American history.'
"And I said, 'And I'm in the business and I'm married to Chynna Phillips from Wilson Phillips.'"
"I don't know if you know anything about their history, but their first record, they sold 10 million copies and they had three singles go to number one on Billboard."
In his reflections, Billy pointed out how Chynna also achieved remarkable success, much like Justin in his career. He also highlighted her parents' rock royalty background.
"So I was basically saying to [Hailey], 'If you ever want to sit down and talk about how to navigate and be successful and keep it real in a long-term, sort of showbiz relationship, let me know if you ever want to talk about that.'"
Expressing uncertainty, Billy mentioned he often struggles to answer when questioned about the key to his successful 33-year marriage. He admitted being unsure what to tell his niece and her husband as they inquired about the secrets and ingredients for such a long-lasting relationship.
He reportedly told Hailey, "A lot of it is chemistry. A lot is luck."
"And a lot it is, you know, the other things you hear sacrifice, commitment, hard work."
Billy disclosed that Hailey and Justin hid their pregnancy from certain relatives.
"I didn't know. I found out when you found out. She didn't text me."
"I just found out when my phone started blowing up. All my nieces and nephews are like, 'Did you see? Did you see?'"
Billy is unclear about Hailey's current pregnancy progress and has not been informed of the exact timeline. Despite this, insiders have disclosed to TMZ that the model has surpassed the six-month mark.
Regarding the gender of their baby, the 61-year-old uncle expressed his contentment with either a boy or a girl, emphasizing that their preference matters most.
