Mandy Moore is opening up about a surprising memory from her early acting years, revealing that Macaulay Culkin introduced her to underage drinking while they were filming the 2004 teen comedy "Saved."

Speaking on Evan Ross Katz's podcast "Shut Up Evan," Moore, now a mother of three, looked back on life as an 18-year-old actress working on the 2003 Vancouver set. The film followed a group of teenagers at a Christian high school and also starred Jena Malone, Patrick Fugit, Eva Amurri, and Culkin.

"I do remember a little bit of underage drinking," Moore said. "As it happened, I was like, 'Look, I didn't go to high school.' I was 18."

At the time, British Columbia's legal drinking age was 19. Culkin, who was the oldest in the cast, was legally allowed to drink and became the one who introduced the group to a popular cocktail. Since Culkin was the oldest in the group, Moore recalled that he introduced the cast to White Russians.

"I was like, 'Milk and alcohol? This is made for me, I love this! This is like ice cream, this is fantastic!'" she said, laughing about how young and carefree the experience felt, Yahoo reported.

Mandy Moore Reflects on Bond With "Saved" Cast

Moore also shared that the cast bond made filming feel more like summer camp than work. Coming off "The Princess Diaries" and "A Walk to Remember," she said she instantly connected with the younger cast.

"I felt like a cool kid," she explained. "I was like, 'Oh, I get to sit at the cool kids table with these young Hollywood kids that are making really cool choices.'"

Despite the drinking memories, Moore emphasized that the group did not cause trouble on set. According to PageSix, she even remembered playful moments like throwing marshmallows from hotel balconies, calling the cast "sweet" and "innocent."

Looking back, Moore described "Saved" as a turning point in her career. She said she loved the script and the bold tone of the movie, adding that it helped her break away from her earlier roles and show a different side of herself as an actress.

"It was a crazy, crazy life-changing experience," Moore said, reflecting on how the film shaped her path in Hollywood and opened doors to more diverse projects.
