Kanye West has been cleared to enter the Netherlands for two upcoming concerts, marking an important step in his planned European tour despite ongoing controversy surrounding the rapper.

Dutch officials confirmed that there are no legal grounds to block the artist, who now goes by Ye, from entering the country. Deputy Prime Minister Bart van den Brink said investigators found no evidence that would justify a travel ban.

"Solid grounds are needed to bar people from entering (the Netherlands). We have not found those in the analyses that were conducted," van den Brink said. "His past statements are not, at this moment, a reason to deny him entry."

According to US News, West is scheduled to perform at the GelreDome stadium in Arnhem on June 6 and June 8. The second date also falls on his 49th birthday. These shows are expected to kick off his broader European tour, which has faced political pushback in several countries.

In recent years, West has been criticized for antisemitic remarks and public praise of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Those comments led to major backlash, including the end of business deals with brands like Adidas, Balenciaga, and Vogue. He also released a controversial song titled "Heil Hitler" in 2025, which added to global criticism.

Kanye West Set for Huge Istanbul Show

Some European leaders have pushed to restrict his performances. However, West's legal clearance in the Netherlands comes after similar efforts in other countries. He was previously denied entry into the United Kingdom in April, which led to the cancellation of a planned festival appearance in London. A show in France was also postponed, and a concert in Poland was canceled.

Despite these setbacks, West's tour continues to move forward in other locations. He is also scheduled to perform in Istanbul, where more than 75,000 tickets have already been sold, RollingStone reported.

Organizers expect attendance could break national records, with rumors that collaborators like Travis Scott and even West's daughter, North, might appear on stage.

West addressed some of his past actions earlier this year, taking out a full-page advertisement in a major US newspaper in January 2026.

In it, he apologized for his behavior and linked it to mental health struggles tied to a bipolar type-1 diagnosis. The apology received mixed reactions, with critics pointing to repeated controversies over the years.
