On Wednesday night, Neil Young debuted a new song "Drive My Car," to an unsuspecting audience at a 300-capacity venue in Somerville, Mass. He was playing guitar in his wife Pegi's backing band, the Survivors, when he took the mic and sang his new track.

In respect to the "car" theme, it was similar to material on "Fork in the Road," which contains songs devoted to his electric car project. Young sings, "I wanna drive my car/ I wanna drive my car / further and further on down the road / I wanna drive my car / I need a place to go / I need a place to go / further and further on down the road / I need a place to go."

According to Rolling Stone, Young has been busy the past few weeks driving across the country in his LincVolt, a 1959 Lincoln Continental powered by electricity and cellulosic ethanol. The trip is being recounted on a Tumblr called "The Passenger Chronicles."

In other Neil Young News: Rumors are circulating that now that the Neil Young and Crazy Horse tour is over, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young will reunite for a 2014 tour, which would be their first time together since 2006. According to The Wall Street Journal, Young asked his former band if they would be willing to play an October benefit concert with him for Bridge School.

"Neil doesn't like wasting words," Nash told them. "When he asks about us playing together, he's really saying: 'Come on up here and let's see how we sound. Maybe we can do something later.' If it feels good when we play as a group, I'm sure it will be the four of us next year."
