There seems to be a new feud in the music world forming, and it involves contemporary songstress Adele and former Genesis frontman Phil Collins, who called Adele a "slippery little fish" after being snubbed over her new album.

In January, Collins reported that the "Rolling in the Deep" singer had asked him to help out on her upcoming record, NME noted.

"I've just started to work with Adele," he said. "She contacted me to write together. I wasn't actually too aware [of her]. I live in a cave [but] she's achieved an incredible amount and I really love her voice and I love some of that stuff she's done. So, to me, it's always an eye-opener. Educational."

In a recent interview with Q magazine, though, the drummer said that after their initial conversation and exchanging some material, the collaboration did not look as likely.

"She said, 'No, no, I'm moving house and the baby's taking up a lot of my time, I'm not actually doing anything at the moment.' And now I've heard there's a [new album] coming out. I'm not on it, I know that," Collins said.

Collins then threw some rough shade at Adele, calling her "a slippery little fish."

On her 26th birthday in May, Adele teased her next album, tentatively titled 25, by tweeting, "Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year x."

The singer's label, XL Recordings, denied that her record would be out by year's end.

OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder also said he was working on Adele's new release while Wiz Khalifa's collaboration with the singer for his album was reportedly thrown out.
