The first "Electric Tomato Festival" has been called off by the Nassau Coliseum due to, reportedly, recent drug overdose incidents at other events involving EDM. Erin Chase, the booking and marketing manager for the coliseum said that she wasn't aware EDM would be involved in the proceedings and that staff were concerned following the recent deaths of two concertgoers at the Electric Zoo festival in nearby New York City.

"Unfortunately, due to recent developments at Electric Zoo, Nassau Coliseum has issues with the EDM part of this event and has decided to cancel the Electric Tomato Festival in New York," read a statement. "All tickets bought will be refunded in full. Further details will be released in the coming days. Thanks to everyone who has supported this event."

Don't freak out immediately, dance fans: There's another reason hiding behind the coliseum's official statement. Turns out, ticket sales weren't doing so hot either. The Coliseum, home to the New York Islanders in Uniondale, NY, is a several hour commute for most New York City residents, and it's possible that potential attendees didn't like the concept of being pelted with tomatoes while they partied.

Of course, the coliseum has had its own issues with EDM in the past. Although no one died, management was forced to end last year's Halloween "Haunted Coliseum" dance party early due to multiple complaints of patrons acting belligerently intoxicated. Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia was scheduled to headline, but he never made it to the stage.
