Yelawolf, an Alabama rapper signed to Shady Records, will be heavily featured on the forthcoming Shady XV double release.

The 34-year-old found mainstream success with his 2011 major label debut Radioactive, which featured "Hard White (Up In the Club)" and "Let's Roll."

He recently spoke with XXL about the new Shady compilation.

"I was surprised to see [debut single] 'Pop The Trunk' and 'Let's Roll' on there," Yelawolf said. "I didn't know they were doing that, which is cool. The original record I put on there, 'Down,' was a record that was really jamming but I wasn't going to put it on Love Story. So it just so happened the opportunity came up to place it on Shady XV. 'Down,' it's in the vein of where I'm at these days. I put that song on there. I did the feature hook for the Slaughterhouse and Eminem track ["Psychopath Killer"] and the feature verse for the Eminem and Skylar Grey song ["Twisted"]."

The release will feature a vast array of artists, including Slaughterhouse, Royce da 5'9", Grey and Big Sean.

"Everyone was doing their own thing on it," Yela said. "Everybody was working in their own city. I was in the studio already working on Love Story. I pretty much haven't stopped working on Love Story. I just put some shit together, Marshall would send me some shit, and I would record it and send it back to him."

Yela's new album Love Story is slated for a 2015 release.

"My last album was so rushed," he said. "It was like a f---ing rush to do everything; rushing to get it in, rush to do this, etc; a lot outside ideas. For instance, I walked in the studio and Lil Jon was already on my record. So things like that happened throughout the entire album. That production company is gone, it doesn't exist anymore. After talking to Marshall, this time around, were just going to go back to the roots. Just give me the keys to the studio-which they did-I'll turn in an album and we'll take it from there. There's no one else involved. Me, the producers, the musicians that I invite, after I speak to Marshall and that's it. It's kind of like invite only."

Check out "Box Chevy V," which Wolf said is a good indicator of what Love Story will sound like:
