• Yelawolf Discusses Eminem Relationship, Admits He's An Alcoholic

Yelawolf has been very open and honest about the struggles he has endured throughout his life. Whether it is troubled childhood, growing up to a mother who had him at 15 and living in poor conditions, Yelawolf has channeled that into his music in a very personal and honest way. However with that pain comes the need to medicate sometimes, especially for artists who have an unfortunate tendency for self-destructive behavior, which was brought up in a recent interview on the ESPN program Highly Questionable. The hosts Dan Le Batard and Bomani Jones normally like to keep things light and funny, but this time they discussed the "Best Friend" rapper's relationship with Eminem and his struggle with alcoholism, which is where the conversation became very serious.

  • 6 Legendary Acts from Alabama, from Lionel Richie, Wilson Pickett and...Shoot...What's the Name of That Country Band?

This week's albums chart had an unusual phenomena when the top two spots were filled by performers-Alabama Shakes and Yelawolf, respectively-from the same state. That state, of course, is Alabama. This is the sort of accomplishment you might expect from California and maybe even New York, but Alabama isn't exactly known for churning superstar musical acts. Music Times decided to mark the occasion by giving a brief look at some of the state's best performers over the years...from Wilson Pickett to Lionel Richie.
  • Alabama Shakes and 'Sound & Color' Becomes First Independent Release Atop Billboard 200 during 2015

Alabama Shakes and 'Sound & Color' brought an air of independence to the Billboard 200 this week, as the album became the first independent label (ATO) release to top the charts during 2015. It was easily the band's bestselling week ever, moving 96,000 equivalent copies during its first week. Yet it seemed almost inevitable: The band got to no. 6 with its previous release, 'Boys & Girls', but nearly a year after it debuted. Listeners caught on to the band just a hair too late, and made up for it this time around.
  • Yelawolf, Eminem Share "Best Friend" Music Video

Yelawolf and Eminem have unveiled the music video for their collaboration together, "Best Friend," taken from the "Till It's Gone" rapper's recent artist album, 'Love Story.' • Stream Yelawolf's New Album 'Love Story'

Alabama rapper Yelawolf, real name Michael Wayne Atha, has released his second major label artist album Love Story. Almost entirely absent of features, a rarity in hip-hop these days, the "Till It's Gone" rapper only calls upon his mentor Eminem to lead the way on their aptly collaboration "Best Friends." The album is a clear progression on the unorganized and at time compromised 2011 Radioactive, that Yelawolf regrets putting out in full. • Listen To Eminem Freestyle On Baruch College Solo Vibes Radio in 1997 [LISTEN]

It has been nearly 20 years since 1997. There was a lot going on as the calendar ticked towards the new millennium. In 1997 Mike Tyson famously bit off Evander Holyfield's ear, Princes Diana was killed and the price of a movie ticket was about $4.50. It was also right when Eminem's career was first taking off, in between his debut album Infinite and the critically acclaimed follow-up The Slim Shady LP. 1997 was also the year he went on Baruch College's Solo Vibes Radio Show and delivered an on-air freestyle session with A.L. (All Lyrics).
