Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ has revealed the release date and album cover — which you can see above — for his long-awaited debut album B4.DA.$$. In a brief album trailer posted to YouTube, which you can check out below, Joey revealed that the album is set to drop Jan. 20, which also happens to be Joey's 20th birthday. In a message posted beneath the video, Joey explains why releasing the album on his birthday was so important to him.

"Peace young world this is the Badmon Jozif and I just want to thank all of my supporters and fans for being so patient with me as I finished my first album," Joey begins. "The wait is finally almost over and the release date is locked and loaded."

"After discovering my birthday falls on a Tuesday (the day of the week all albums drop) next year I decided to save the album drop for then (1.20.15)," Joey writes. "I thought it was the best time to cause a shift. It's always been a goal of mine to drop a project on my birthday, and the premonition has finally come into fruition. The number 120 is very unique and symbolic to me as well. My 1st album on my 20th birthday this was destiny."

The album's trailer was directed by Rik Codero, which offers a Brooklyn reimagining of the opening scene to Forrest Gump — you know, where the camera follows the white feather down to Forrest's feet. You can check out the trailer here:

Joey's most recent mixtape, Summer Knights, was released back in 2013. It was his third mixtape overall, following 2012's 1999 and Rejex.
