Ohio State football player Kosta Karageorge has been missing since Wednesday afternoon, and authorities have not been able to track down the 6-foot-5 senior.

According to the Associated Press, Karageorge, 22, "was last seen at his apartment around 2 a.m. Wednesday. Team spokesman Jerry Emig confirmed that Karageorge missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, which his family says was uncharacteristic.

"Karageorge's parents filed a missing-person report Wednesday evening, listing him as white, 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, bearded and bald."

His mother also told police that Karageorge has suffered several concussions and "a few spells of being extremely confused" throughout his football career. On Wednesday at 1:30 a.m., he texted his mother a message that "cited the concussions" and said, "I am sorry if I am an embarrassment."

According to The Columbus Dispatch, a group of former Ohio State football players offered a cash reward for information that would help police find Karageorge, and one alum, Matt Finkes, announced via Twitter that the reward will total at least $1,000.

The school released an official statement on the matter via team physician, Dr. Jim Borchers.

"First and foremost, our primary concern is for the health, safety and welfare of Kosta," it read. "While we are not able to discuss or comment about the medical care regarding our student athletes, we are confident in our medical procedures and policies to return athletes to participation following injury or illness."

The search continues while the No. 6-ranked Buckeyes face the rival Michigan Wolverines in Columbus on Saturday afternoon.
