Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings have been known to bring some serious funk to their cover songs. They almost made Woody Guthrie's 1944 tune "This Land is Your Land" unrecognizable, and now they're bringing some signature soul licks to "White Christmas." The cover is presented by Cole Haan, which recently dubbed the act this season's "Gifted and Talented muses," Paste notes.

With all due respect to Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, this version kicks so much ass. And it's really because Jones and The Dap-Kings kicked so much ass this year. Check out the video below and try not to boogie. Go ahead ... try.

Jones was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 prior to the release of her sixth studio album, Give the People What They Want. She had to postpone the release date — it dropped in January — and cancel some gigs before getting surgery. That didn't keep her down, though, and now she's back and better than ever.

The singer talked about the awesome album with Rolling Stone after its release.

"The only thing I wanted to accomplish was to finally get recognized by the music industry," she said. "If you know the awards, answer me this question: Do you see an award for soul music? No. They have R&B, funk, hip-hop and all sorts of contemporary things."

Even if she doesn't receive an award, Jones can rest easy knowing she put out a real gem. The album hit 22 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Independent Albums charts.

"A dozen years in, her brass-powered group is both extending and preserving tradition; it remains a national treasure and an instant soul party," Will Hermes wrote for RS.
