With the release of their debut LP Sremmlife set for release in under a month on Jan. 6 via Eardruma/Interscope, Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy, known professionally as Rae Sremmurd have released the third single "Throw Sum Mo" from their debut studio effort. The "No Flex Zone" rappers tab one of the hottest artists in the world right now, "Anaconda" rapper Nicki Minaj and Young Thug to assist on the track with Mike WILL Made It producing, as he did for the full album.
Mike WILL creates a tight, club-friendly beat for Lee and Jimmy to lay down the first two verses over, while Young Thug finishes out the track in his starting and stopping manner of vocalization. Nicki Minaj provides the hook for the song, encapsulating the money and strippers theme of the song with her lines,
"Yeah I know, you just got cash
Blow sum mo', blow sum mo', blow sum mo'
The more you spend it, the faster it go
Bad bitches, on the floor
Its rainin' hunnid's
Throw sum mo', throw sum mo'
Throw sum mo', throw sum mo'
This is the third single to appear from the upcoming EP. The first two, "No Flex Zone" and "No Type" have been hits within the hip-hop and DJ communities and moved their way up towards the top of the charts.
The duo even had the opportunity a week ago to perform a medley of "No Flex Zone" and "No Type" on the "Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." The hype is real for these two, but we will see what they are able to do with a full-length album.
The duo recently teamed up with enigmatic rapper and aspiring EDM act, Riff Raff and their album producer Mike WILL Made-It for "Choppin", set to appear on Mike WILL Made-It's upcoming EP.
