We couldn't get enough of London five-piece Duologue last week at CMJ, and today their debut album, Song & Dance came out. The electro-folk rock band teamed up with renowned producer Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele) on the 12-song effort.

The group put together a complex album that blends genres and engages the listener from beginning to end. There are overall hints of Radiohead with subtle dubstep, folk and classic rock elements that combine for a rich, beautiful sound.

Frontman Tim Digby-Bell told Music Times recently that the album spans a few years worth of writing within a three-tiered process.

"Electronic music provides a great platform [for songwriting]," he said. "We will start it on a [computer] program then take it off that and put it onto live instruments and play it without any electronics at all. We find a way to play it as a band, even if its nothing like the way it will sound eventually. It is a really important...to take it off any type of programming platform and figure out how to play it so you can actually feel the impulse of it and once you've found that, those sort of muscles, you can bring it back to the electronics and emulate what you've found."

What makes the album so dynamic is that the songs sound like nothing you've ever heard before though they have originated from very familiar sources. The lyrics are smart and each track is distinct but cohesive.
