Following an announcement that Childish Gambino, also known as Donald Glover, received a pilot order for his new show Atlanta, the actor the actor turned rapper decided to black out his social media accounts and websites.

As noted by XXL, Gambino has removed all of the content from his Twitter and other social media accounts. The pages that housed his recent music and the screenplay that accompanied his 2013 album, Because The Internet, have been blacked out as well.

The magazine's site speculates that Gambino's vanishing act could be connected to the fact that Because The Internet was released last Dec. 10. There is also a possibility Gambino has joined in joined the protestors who have blacked out their accounts, paying tribute to Eric Garner, Mike Brown, and the other blacks killed by police of late.

It was recently announced Gambino would get back to acting as the FX network gave the green-light for the half-hour comedy series developed by the rapper. The show, named after Gambino's hometown, will center around two cousins with vastly different lifestyles who are trying to make it in the thriving Atlanta rap scene. He will take on the role of Earnest "Earn" Marks, an underachiever who tries his hand at rapping. Gambino will also executive produce the project along side Paul Simms and Dianne McGunigle of the Schiff Company.

In October, Childish Gambino announced he would take on a role in the next Ridley Scott film, Martian.
