Amy Adams held her ground with NBC executives yesterday and it cost her a promotional interview on Today. The show wanted to get her opinion on one of the hottest topics out there now — the hacking of Sony — and apparently Adams refused to comment publicly. Her name has been mentioned in some of the leaked emails that prove she and Jennifer Lawrence were paid considerably less than their male costars in American Hustle. It was a topic Adams refused to touch, so Today decided to cancel her interview on the spot in spite of her being there to actually promote her new film Big Eyes.

What actually transpired in the green room depends on who you ask. Adams's team insists she carried herself with grace while NBC insiders are saying things got heated and her attitude did not win her any fans. According to Us Weekly, it was just business as usual for the morning show.

"As a news program, The Today Show doesn't allow guests to put restrictions on interviews. In this case, after hours of discussion we felt uncomfortable with the demands being made, and we determined the best course of action for all parties involved was to cancel the interview. As a professional courtesy, Amy and her team were told well in advance that she might get asked about Sony, and that it was entirely up to her whether she wanted to answer," said an insider.

Here is the kicker: Some staffers are claiming there is video of the war of words between Adams and Today staff that will prove she was a bit of a diva.

Can you imagine if that happens to leak out? The fallout for the actress could be rather interesting, don't you think? In the meantime, do you blame her for not wanting to discuss the scandal? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
