Whether you want to believe it or not, tomorrow is, in fact, New Year's Eve. And is here to bring things down a few notches. Today (Dec. 30), the "Beg For It" singer is closing out her breakthrough year of 2014 with a downtrodden and appropriately titled new single and music video, "New Year's Eve."

The black and white clip features MØ wearing a white feather coat and black earmuffs, singing her melancholy tune while famous New Year's countdown from classic films and TV shows flash by.

The song itself is fittingly reflective, simplistic, wintery and a little sad, which is reflective of New Year's Eve itself, in a way.

"Why do some things stay the same and some don't / Say we'll stay around when, no, we won't / I'm a gross teenager trapped in a grown-up shade / Need someone to clean up the mess I've made / Say we'll be fine," MØ sings in the opening verse before bringing in the true meaning of the end of a year.

MØ's voice fits in well for "New Year's Eve," giving the light piano touches and vocal layerings that make up the instrumentation a raw, emotional balance.

Yes, this song is all about forgetting one's problems and moving on. Or, at least pretending to forget about it all just for one night.

It's a sad, tried and true tribute to 2014. And, well, here's to the new year.
