Minneapolis hip-hop duo, Atmosphere, have shared the music video for their song, "January On Lake Street," which you can check out below. The video follows a skateboarder riding around a city (presumably Minneapolis), intercut with slow motion shots of various people doing pretty much nothing. That description makes the video seem a bit boring, but it all ties together at the end in a tragic way (mini-spoiler alert: it's a lot like the end of Melancholia).

"January On Lake Street" is the ninth music video to be shared from Atmosphere's latest album Southsiders, following the videos for "Fortunate," "Arthur's Song," "My Lady Got Two Men," "Southsiders," "We Ain't Gonna Die Today," "Camera Thief," "Kanye West," and "Bitter." Southsiders was released back in May through Rhymesayers Entertainment, and was the duo's seventh studio album overall, their first since 2011's The Family Sign.

"This record in particular I felt has a little more with regard to mortality and thinking about some sort of bigger 'What am I doing?" picture," Atmosphere member Slug told Okayplayer about the lyrical content of Southsiders. "Mortality is something I hear a lot now in the record that I didn't necessarily know was there when we first started. But in hindsight I started seeing things that made sense. This is what a dad in his 40s should be rapping about."

"[I]nside of the music and the lyrics there's all these moments where I was like, 'Woah, I was actually almost getting with something really heavy right there,'" Slug continued, "There are these moments all over the record that get really close to touching on something heavy."
