Iggy Azalea has been getting a lot of flack lately for her blend of pop, hip-hop and rap, despite all of her successes. Led by Azealia Banks, the "Fancy" rapper has come under fire from the rap community for appropriating black culture but Azalea has another reason for why people may be targeting her instead of, say, Macklemore: she's a woman.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Azalea claims all of the beefs and criticisms she's been getting lately are "100,000 percent because I have a vagina."

"Well, I never thought it was strange," Azalea said about being a white female Australia rapper. "If you go back to the Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley and Eminem -- they've all basically done black music. I felt this wasn't that far from what we've seen in music history over and over again.

They don't say that stuff about Macklemore. So, yes, I think it has 100,000 percent to do with the fact that I have a vagina."

Notably candid, Azalea also dismisses those who criticize her sound, which blends the worlds of pop and hip-hop in massive and unprecedented ways. "I don't care if people think I'm pop or rap. People interpret music differently."

Azalea's comments on sexism from her critics follows a rough December for the Grammy nominee, who was targeted by Banks on Twitter for stealing from black culture with her music. The question of Azalea's authenticity blew up into a major storm, bringing in comments from the likes of will.i.am, Q-Tip, Solange, Lupe Fiasco and more.
