Country star Miranda Lambert got a sneak preview of Meghan Trainor's smash hit "All About That Bass" before the rest of the world heard it. According to CMT, Lambert was able to get a peek because her personal trainer is married to the sister-in-law of the 43-year-old man who co-wrote the song.

That last guy would be Kevin Kadish, a Nashville-area songwriter who penned "Bass" with Trainor.

Lambert performed the song with Trainor at the 2014 CMA Awards, but that was apparently long after she'd been familiar with it.

"Miranda Lambert heard the song before Meghan even had a record deal because my sister-in-law is married to Miranda's personal trainer," Kadish told Elle. "Miranda heard the song over a year ago. And then when it came to the CMA's, she was like, 'Oh! Let's do that song.' So it's kind of full circle."

If you're like us, you're still wondering how and why a grown man in his 40s would write a song that features a lyric like, "I got that boom boom that all the boys chase," Kidash addressed that blip.

"Maybe I'm just in touch with my feminine side," he said. "We weren't acting like professional songwriters. We were just writing a song to write a song. We were just being creative and, honestly, we never thought this song would be on the radio. We never thought anyone would hear the song."

So many people ended up hearing "All About That Bass" that it was No. 8 on Billboard's year-end pop chart for 2014. If you are one of the few who missed it, you can check it out below:
