Broken Bells — James Mercer (The Shins) and Brian Burton (Danger Mouse) — has some cool things in store for their upcoming album, After the Disco. To accompany the release, the band will release a short film of the same name based on a story by Mercer and Burton, starring Anton Yelchin (Star Trek) and Kate Mara (House of Cards).

The band already shared the film's prologue, directed by Jacob Gentry and produced in conjunction with The Creators Project. Named Part One: Angel and The Fool, it centers on a man who dreams of falling in love with an astronaut on a far away planet only to find she is not who she seems to be.

Today the duo released the video for Part Two: Holding On For Life, which picks up where the first film left off. Yelchin goes onboard a space vessel, greeted by Mercer and Burton's characters. The extraterrestrials are hosting an electric rave dance party. Mara's character walks down the same hallways and is also greeted by Mercer and Burton. She takes off her space suit and readjusts her makeup and hair, daydreaming about meeting Yelchin, who is looking for her aboard the ship. Things start to get wonky as Yelchin enters some sort of acid-like trip via fumes from his space helmet. Mara sees Yelchin flirting with another girl while he is hallucinating. She runs awayand Yelchin realizes the woman he is kissing actually is an old lady and not Mara. When he looks in the mirror, he sees an older version of himself. Both he and Mara are confused and lovesick.
