California Dream-pop group Mazzy Star performed last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the band's first time on late-night television since 1994 when they performed for Conan.
They came on the show in support of Seasons of Your Day, which dropped back in September and recorded by the band's original lineup. Seventeen years later, it is the follow up to 1996's Among My Swan. The band just finished up a national tour with European dates to be announced for 2014.
Last night they took the stage to perform the new album's single "California" in complete darkness with only a handful of candles and dim bulbs illuminating the stage. Lead singer Hope Sandoval vocals sounded haunting over eerie acoustic guitar and hand drums as she sang about going back to California.
