As Garth Brooks continues to make his way across the country in support of his first album in 13 years, Man Against Machine, there has been plenty of opportunities for admirers to share the stage with him. Most notably, Justin Timberlake and the country legend sang "Friends in Low Places" together, and recently Lee Brice scored an invite onstage. Brice co-wrote Brooks's 2007 hit "More Than a Memory," and that is what the pair sang at a show in Boston last week.

Brice drove from a gig in Foxwood, Connecticut, to Boston in order to see Brooks perform. He was able to meet the icon backstage before the show, where he was given the opportunity of a lifetime.

"He was like, 'Hey, so you feel like working tonight?'" Brice recalled during a radio interview, Taste of Country noted. "My mouth ... have you ever woke up and you couldn't swallow, you were so dry? I was that way right before."

The "Drinking Class" singer was not completely sure how Brooks attacked the song, considering he recorded it eight years ago and Brice does a completely different version of it live. There was no rehearsal either: The band jumped right in and Brooks gave the singer a green light. Luckily, he did not disappoint.

"Lee, can't thank you enough for making the late Saturday show so special! Boston loves you and you deserve it! Love you, pal, g," Brooks tweeted after the performance, which Brice said was a definite check off his bucket list.

"More Than a Memory" became Brice's first No. 1 single as an artist when Brooks released it as a single before including it in his Ultimate Hits collection.
