A few rappers have seen their works popping up on an awful lot of best-of year-end lists this month. Among them: Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, Eminem, Run The Jewels, Pusha T. Not included in that list is Wale, whose The Gifted got a range of both good and bad reviews, but certainly didn't merit universal acclaim. Still, the emcee was less than pleased to learn that his LP couldn't even make Complex magazine's 50 Best Albums of 2013 list.

The Maybach Musician took a higher road than many performers, opting to skip the impersonal tweet and call the offices of the publication directly. Unfortunately, he took a lower road during the duration of the conversation, threatening to head over to the office and shake things up.

"I swear to God I'll come to that office and start knocking n----s the f--k out," was his quote, as related by Complex editor Insanul Ahmed. The staffer claimed he tried to calm the emcee down, to which he received the reply: "Alright. I'll see y'all tomorrow. Get the security ready."

Complex's process is admittedly a little hard to understand, considering the albums included. The publication has an emphasis on hip-hop, but we were pleased to see some of our own favorites, such as Deafheaven's Sunbather included. But then again, it was included further back than Juicy J's Stay Trippy, a wholesale massacre of the English language. Wale, no doubt also a fan of the aforementioned San Francisco black metal band, also took issue at Juicy J's inclusion.

"You mean to tell me Juicy J album better than mine?" he told Ahmed. "Is that what you trying to tell me?"

We'd have to agree with him on that point. But, if he draws issue with being withheld from Complex, why not other publications with a similar range of tastes, such as SPIN or Stereogum? Oh well. We'll see if it earns him points for his 2014 release, The Album About Nothing
