There have been a few situations this week where seasoned news reporters have made comments that not only can be considered racist, but they also have put their own jobs in jeopardy out of pure stupidity. E!'s Giuliana Rancic has grabbed an onslaught of negative attention for her slighting of Zendaya Coleman's look on Oscar night and many are calling for the network to issue her walking papers. Coleman turned up on the red carpet with a Boho look that included dreadlocks, and Rancic mused about whether or not she smelled like Patchouli oil and weed. A major misstep and one that has even her co-workers lashing out, leaving her future on E! in question.

Coleman admitted to being insulted and finding the commentary racist, and while Rancic quickly issued an apology via Twitter, it was not nearly enough to stop the speeding train of controversy. Even her Fashion Police co-stars are over Rancic's behavior, according to a report by Radar Online.

"The entire cast of Fashion Police is done with Giuliana and they are hoping that she will be not only kicked off the show, but also off of the network.  The network does not condone racism in any way, shape or form, and they know that their reputation is now at stake," explained the insider.

As the issue began to snowball into a mountain of bad press yesterday, Rancic issued another, more formal apology, saying, "I just want everyone to know I didn't intend to hurt anybody, but I've learned it is not my intent that matters, it's the result and the result is that people are offended, including Zendaya. And that is not OK. Therefore, I want to say to Zendaya and anyone else out there that I have hurt, that I am so, so sincerely sorry."

Rancic seems to be struggling to win people over in part because she has been a lightening rod for trouble lately. Her extremely thin appearance has been grabbing headlines again, and then there is that cat fight with Maria Menounos over who deserves to be in the top position at E!.

When you put all of these things together, it ultimately means that Rancic has become a problem for the network and her supporters are dwindling. Do you think E! may actually decide to fire her? Should it? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
