Amerie, the "1 Thing" singer, has teamed up with producer Rich Harrison again for a new upbeat and electrifying song called "Out Loud."

Harrison produced songs for the singer songwriter including the Touch single, "1 Thing." Touch was her sophomore album, which released in 2005 three years after her debut, All I Have. Because I Love It hit stores in 2007 while her most recent album, In Love & War, came out in 2009.

In a Clutch Magazine interview in 2009, Amerie described her specific and unique sound:

"It's hard for me to describe it in any kind of full sentence but more just like keywords. It's hard and soft. It's melodic. I love lush harmonies. It's aggressive. It's a great mix of aggression with a smooth finish," the singer shared. "That's the best way to describe it. It's very soulful. And there does always seem to be a Hip Hop sensibility to it."

Amerie and Harrison have had a history of making music. The "Out Loud" singer described her music relationship with Harrison as "having good chemistry."

"In a nutshell, I was trying to get into the business for a really long time. And I was always working on a demo, and it took a lot of time. I was in DC and hooked up with Rich Harrison, and we were pretty much just trying to create a sound and create a vibe. We had really great chemistry so it came together really quickly. We ended up creating a demo and most of the songs on the demo ended up becoming my first album, All I Have He knew someone who had the connection to Columbia, and I ended up getting signed by Don Ienner who was the head of the company at the time then came out with my first release."
