The Sundance Film Festival won't just be about debuting some of the best independent film out there this year, the annual showcase will also feature some musical scores from two musical mainstays. Both Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard and Beastie Boy Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz have created music for two Sundance movies this year, according to IndieWire.

Gibbard will be contributing the score for the film Laggies, directed by Lynn Shelton and starring Keira Knightley, Sam Rockwell and Chloe Grace Moretz. According to iMDB, Laggies, a comedy, tells the story of Megan (Knightley), a woman who is stuck in permanent adolescence. After promising to go on a growing retreat, she instead "spends the time hanging out with friends."

Laggies will be Gibbard's second foray into film scoring. The Death Cab frontman previously made the music for the Kurt Cobain documentary About A Son in 2006.

That means 2013 was a busy year for Gibbard. As documented on Instagram, Death Cab For Cutie have been in the studio working on the follow-up to its 2011 album Codes and Keys.

Of course, Gibbard won't be the only big-name musician who penned music for a Sundance film. Beastie Boys member Ad-Rock supplied the score for No No: A Dockumentary, a film about baseball pitcher Dock Ellis who supposedly threw a no-hitter in the 1970s while tripping on acid.

Similar to Gibbard, No No won't be Ad-Rock's first film score. He also provided the soundtracks for the Beastie Boys documentary Awesome: I F---in' Shot That! And The Thing That Happened.

The Sundance Film Festival will take place in Park City, Utah, from Jan. 16 to 26.
