If playing the world's smallest violin is metaphor for sob stories then what about the piccolo? For Roxanne Chalifoux and the windy instrument, it represents, actually, physical tears. Now viral, she was recently invited to perform on Jimmy Fallon with none other than The Roots.

In the second round of NCAA's March Madness tournament, Villanova suffered a devastating defeat and came a shock to North Carolina State, losing 68-71. But, as you may know, the only thing anyone remembers from the game is this girl in the Villanova band, caught on live TV crying while playing her piccolo.

A whirlwind weekend, to say the least, the crying Villanova player has been adorned with gifts ranging from Taylor Swift tickets to an appearance on The Tonight Show.

Having been the source of some unwarranted ridicule, the prizes came well received (and almost made her cry yet again).

Nevertheless, the performer seems to be taking it all in stride. That is, performing on-air with The Roots should be indicative that the international stardom associated with her tears is nothing to be down about.
