It was recently revealed that pop singer Ke$ha would be heading to rehab to battle her eating disorder. In a recent interview with People, the star's mother Pebe Sebert is criticizing her 26-year-old daughter's producer Dr. Luke and other advisors who she says had a role in her bulimia.

Sebert states that Ke$ha's breakdown started right before Christmas after finding out that Dr. Luke "told a friend of ours he thought she looked like a refrigerator" in her most recent music video.

"Dr. Luke had been telling her how she had to get in shape and lose weight and all this stuff," Sebert added. "She was exercising and dieting and ultimately doing everything she could, but not getting thin fast enough. And that's when she first became bulimic."

Dr. Luke, who has also worked with Katy Perry and Jessie J, denied these claims. "These statements and allegations concerning Dr. Luke are completely false," a spokesperson said. "It is unfortunate that at a time Ke$ha is suffering immensely and trying to heal at a treatment center, her mother is taking this approach with the media. I give Ke$ha my utmost support and well wishes for a quick return to health."

Upon entering rehab, Ke$ha issued a heartfelt statement: "I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I've found it hard to practice. I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder ... to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am."

Despite the current unfortunate circumstances for the star, her single with Pitbull "Timber" has climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 after spending four weeks at No. 2. It also grabbed the No. 1 position on the U.K. singles chart, the first of 2014.
