Japanese alt-rock act Asian Kung-Fu Generation will be releasing its eighth album during May, to be titled Wonder Future. Music fans in Japan can be awfully impatient, as JPopAsia reports that despite a record gap of less than three years, the band "will finally be releasing an all-new album!"

Asian Kung-Fu Generation has some serious technical chops going to work on the new album, having recorded it at the Foo Fighters' personal studio, the appreciated Studio 606. Those who buy the deluxe version of the album will also get a DVD that details the recording process. As this is a proper alt-rock act, a vinyl version of the album will become available during June.

The release of Future Wonder also comes with good news for International fans who haven't completed their collection yet: The rest of the band's seven albums will become available on iTunes in the United States and elsewhere for the first time.

The band won't be coming to North America in the near future...but hardcore fans still have a chance to check the group out without taking a boat anywhere...technically. Asian Kung-Fu Generation will set out on a brief Latin American tour during November, coming as far north as Mexico.
