For the first time since 1995, Boy George will be releasing an LP of entirely new tracks. The performer has released an EDM album of house music, an acoustic EP, and even a musical titled Taboo, but his This Is What I Do (due to be released on March 25) will be his full original LP since 1995's Cheapness and Beauty

George says that the record will be a throwback to '70s-era pop, and that he himself was in a happy place when recording the album.

"I wanted to make a baggy album, not overproduced and I think I have achieved it," he said in a statement. "I was listening to things like 'Beast of Burden' by the Stones, and I had my head most definitely in the '70s. I was also writing from a happy place. This time, no ex-lovers to get revenge on."

Although the performer reunited with his original band Culture Club during 2012, and George had even declared they would be recording an album together. It doesn't seem like Cheapness and Beauty will be that album. If George and Culture Club were planning on recording an album during 2014, it's not sure when they'll fund the time to do it. George is scheduled to go on tour in North America later this year (with a nine-piece band...not Culture Club). Those dates have yet to be announced.

For now, his solo LP will be produced by Youth, the former member if the post-punk group Killing Joke, as well as Paul McCartney's project Fireman.
