We'll kick off this week's Mixtape with one of the most brash-yet-educational songs of the year. We're talking about garage rockers FIDLAR's latest song "40oz on Repeat," which received an amazing music video this week. While watching, you'll get a lesson in music video history, with a number of memorable MTV scenes playing out in front of you, backed by one of the catchiest songs of the year. RIYL: METZ, Cloud Nothings

Perhaps the biggest song released last week was Eminem's "Phenomenal," which debuted in the trailer for the upcoming Jake Gyllenhaal boxing films, Southpaw. Funny Fact, the rapper was supposed to star in this movie at one point, but luckily decided to only provide a new number for the soundtrack. Check it out right here!

This week we only have one cover to share with you, but it could be the best one of the year! Rockers Screaming Females took on the current princess of Pop, Taylor Swift with a new take on her 2015 anthem, "Shake it Off." It is truly two worlds colliding for one of the coolest pieces of music in a while. Check it out right here!

We usually hear about Idris Elba in the film and TV worlds, namely rumors about him becoming the next James Bond, his show Luther or anything else about the talented British star. Well, add spitting some hard rhymes to his long list of talents because the actor remixed Skepta's "Shutdown" this week and it was incredible. Check it out right here!

Another great phenomenon that took place this week involved members of well-established bands releasing new music for solo project! Tokyo Police Club singer Dave Monks this week premiered a new solo song entitled "The Rules." Former Dirty Projectors multi-instrumentalist Angel Deradoorian debuted her latest solo song, "A Beautiful Woman." Plus, Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes is getting ready for a new solo album release in 2015, premiering his new song "Losing Touch" this past week.

This week also provided us with one of the most interesting collaborations of the year. Artists Kelela, Ratking's Hak, Skrillex, and Clams Casino came together for a 2015 track that doesn't even have a title yet. Check it out right here!

After announcing their 2015 album Pagans in Vegas, the Canadian electronic indie rockers Metric premiered a great new track entitled "Cascades" this week. You'll feel like you're in some sort of video game while listening to this new number, as singer Emily Haines mesmerizes you with her unique vocals. Have a listen right here:

In "Carrion Flowers," dark singer-songwriter Chelsea Wolfe embraces elements of industrial rock, experimental folk and so much more for our listening pleasures. This crushing track is the latest off of the forthcoming 2015 album, Abyss. Check it out right here:

We recommend you share this new mixtape with one of your friends that can't make it out to any summer festivals this year. This blend of songs from the past week embodies the sounds of music this year, making for a fun playlist to enjoy just as you would a festival!
