Crystal Castles has unveiled a new song "Deicide," which is slated to appear on the group's upcoming album. After the messy breakup of the popular indie-electronic group last year, producer Ethan Kath has kept the Crystal Castles banner flying and brought on a new singer by the name Edith. The new tune starts out very ambient, before building into a late '90s, early '00s, Euro rave type of track with the soft vocals of Edith gently sitting on top.

It isn't the most complex track we have heard from CC, though it has a similar sound to the last track revealed "Frail" with its super compressed synths. Stream "Deicide" below.

According to Spin, "Deicide" will be on the group's upcoming album, which does not have further details about a possible release date or potential tracklist. Kath posted the news in a message (via NME), "Sincere thank you for the support. A new Crystal Castles album is on the way, 'Frail' and 'Deicide' are just a peak at what's to come."

It is good to see some new music from Crystal Castles recently after they were making headlines for a very messy and public breakup that involved jabs bring thrown back forth by Ethan Kath and ex-band member Alice Glass.

The pair went back and forth about who wrote what for the group, claiming songwriting credits on certain tracks. Kath claimed that Glass had not written a lot of the songs she sang on, but then she responded with a list of tracks she wrote before writing that the issues went beyond creative vision, which was obvious.

"My art and my self-expression in any form has always been an attempt towards sincerity, honesty, and empathy for others," she said. "For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within CC."
