It was a slow week for new albums, at least in terms of sales, as only one record debuted within the Top 10. The good news is that the one record debuted at no. 1

Eric Church posted his best numbers ever, reaching the no. 1 spot with The Outsiders, which sold 288,000 copies. The country star's album got a boost from two factors: A) Country fans are more dedicated buyers than other genres, always promising a good turnout and B) Outsiders has gotten a stream of positive reviews where mainstream country music usually doesn't tread, such as Rolling Stone and SPIN

Frozen is the top finisher among last week's returnees, thanks to another 100,000 copies sold of the soundtrack. That total was more than enough to move the album across the platinum-status line. Another compilation, Now 49, dropped to no. 3 after topping the chart last week. That volume sold an additional 77,000 copies.

Beyoncé was the first of three acts on this week's list to get a sales boost from iTunes Valentine's Day deal. Her self-titled album was available for $6.99, and many a boyfriend jumped at the deal for his beau. Or himself. Either way, the record moved another 48,000 copies. Imagine Dragons and Night Visons jumped to no. 6 thanks to the bargain, moving 41,000 units, and Miley Cyrus' Bangerz came in at no. 10 on the same train, moving 29,000 copies. We have to question who at iTunes though Imagine Dragons was good music for making romance.

Bruno Mars is coming back to Earth after his Super Bowl performance drove sales up, but he's coming down slowly. Unorthodox Jukebox placed no. 5 this week after selling 48,000 copies. Lorde is still around thanks to the success of "Team," and Pure Heroine placed no. 7 with 39,000 copies.

Toni Braxton and Babyface will spend at least one more week on the list, as Love Marriage, and Divorce comes in at no. 8 with 33,000 copies sold. Katy Perry placed at no. 9 with PRISM moving another 31,000 units.
