Cold Cave's Wesley Eisold covered The Cure in homage of pro-skater Tony Hawk's recent nuptials. Held on the grounds of an expansive Irish estate, Hawk tied the knot with Catherine Goodman on Adare Manor's lush 840-acres.

Invited by Hawk and his now wife to perform at the wedding's reception, Cold Cave's melancholic dark wave and brooding romanticism was befitting the sprawling landscape of the estate. Eisold's cover of Disintegration's "Plainsong" is darker than The Cure's, yet equally captivating.

Much like Cold Cave's Full Cold Moon, their rendition of "Plainsong" is drenched in synth and looping drumbeats. Sounding like Joy Division's Ian Curtis meets Robert Smith, Eisold's vocal delivery is entrancingly melancholic. It's quieter than well-known tracks like "Love Comes Close," "Confetti" or "A Little Death To Laugh."

Former front man of American Nightmare, Eisold's penchant for gothy anthems keeps fans, including Hawk, in awe. Details related to Cold Cave's forthcoming efforts remain unknown, yet the project's future seems to be synonymous with lengthy tours and "constant movement."

For now, it seems as all of Eisold's dreams, who according to a recent feature in SF Weekly, spent his hours of his undergrad career "in his dorm playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater," are coming true in rapid succession. Currently on tour, Cold Cave is set to play Brooklyn's The Wick later this month before heading to the West Coast for a string of tour dates.
