There's another new music festival on the horizon this autumn, and this time it's going back to the root of it all. Today (Aug. 5) the initial lineup for the American Roots Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina, was announced, featuring the likes of Eric Church, Modest Mouse, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson and more.

Church leads the two-night music festival with double sets, Rolling Stone Country reports. On both Oct. 17 and 18 the "Like a Wrecking Ball" will be giving a headlining performance, in an unprecedented move for a new festival.

Of course, Church isn't the only performer that fall weekend. In addition to the previously mentioned acts, The Roots, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Warren Haynes, Grace Potter, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Chris Stapleton, Railroad Earth, Leftover Salmon and Greensky Bluegrass are also on the bill.

More bands are also expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The American Roots Festival is set to take place on Oct. 17 and 18 at the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh. In addition to the music, the festival is set to include local food and vendors.

"Raleigh has an energy that celebrates the best in music, food and arts, making it the perfect place to launch the American Roots Music & Arts Festival. This incredible line-up headlined by North Carolina's own Eric Church along with The Taste of Raleigh Food & Brews Celebration will give music fans and the Raleigh community an unforgettable experience," Keith Wortman, CEO of Blackbird Production Partners, LLC, said in a statement on the festival's website.

Tickets for the inaugural festival go on sale Monday, Aug. 10.
