Ariana Grande and Big Sean may have broken up months ago while she was recording her new album Moonlight, but don't expect for the "Focus" singer to tackle the subject on record. In a new interview with her Scream Queens director Ryan Murphy, Grande opened up about her split from her boyfriend and "Best Mistake" collaborator, saying that she has moved on.

In a conversation in V Magazine, Grande admitted that the breakup between herself and Big Sean didn't hit her too hard, because they had been friends before they got romantic.

"You know, people found out quite a while after it actually happened. By the time I was writing the new album, I had kind of moved on. It's not going to be captured on the album too much. I'm in a happy place. There aren't any breakup anthems because I had moved on. I was like, alright. Well, f*ck it," she said.

Grande, who also stated that her best breakup advice is to be OK with being alone and happy with yourself, said that her new album Moonlight carries with it a sense of adulthood and independence, which is why she didn't feel a need to call Sean out in song.

"I've been feeling a lot more empowered, and grown up, and independent. I think that's part of the reason I didn't want to make a pissed-off break-up song. I was not focused on that," she said. "Everything is nice and great right now. Why would I write about some bullsh*t? I'd rather write about some really lovely things that are going on."

But, that doesn't mean that Moonlight won't be a personal record. According to Grande, it's quite the opposite.

"Moonlight is very honest and very special to me. I feel like this is the most personal music I've made, by far," she said. "I'm very proud of it and I'm very excited. It's scary. It's vulnerable and kind of terrifying."

Moonlight has yet to receive a release date, but Grande announced that the album's lead single "Focus" will be released on Oct. 30.
