As one of the most influential beatmakers and hip-hop artists ever J Dilla's impact on the genre and music has been felt long after his untimely death in 2006. He never stopped making music up until his passing and there was been a dearth of beats that have emerged either as straight instrumentals or paired with other rappers. A new batch of 40 rare, unreleased instrumentals are being packaged and sold as Dillatronic in various formats.

According to a press release (via Detroit Sun Times), the new instrumentals will focus on his more electronic sound. Unlike a lot of other posthumous releases, this has been approved by Dilla's mother Ma Dukes.

"I can smile in my heart, knowing my son's work is being shared with the people as we planned before he passed," she says. "I only share the best, and I only hope to continue introducing the world to the genius of J Dilla."

According to Young RJ, Dilla's protégé and member of Slum Village, the electronic feel of these beats makes them feel very contemporary and adds to the timeless nature of his music.

"These tracks are still ahead of their time sonically," explains RJ. "The things producers are doing now, Dilla did that 15 years ago."

The collection is available in limited edition CDs, 3xLP Vinyls and various deluxe packages that combine merchandise such as clothing and bags with vinyl or CDs. You can purchase your copy or deluxe package on Dilla's website here. You can also pick up All Access passes to J Dilla Weekend in Miami Feb. 5-7.

One track has already been shared "Dillatronic #7" it has all of the calling cards of a Dilla beat with the added bonus of a spacey arps and frenetic synth work.
