There has been a ton of speculation and a slew of conspiracy theories since the 1996 death of rapper Tupac Shakur and now, a retired cop is claiming that he and Suge Knight helped Shakur fake his death after a Las Vegas shooting.

According to Vibe, retired police officer, David Myers, who is reportedly in critical condition, recently spilled the beans in his hospital room. Myers claims that he was paid $1.5 million for his part in orchestrating a ruse to fake Pac’s death.

“The world needs to know what I did. I’m ashamed that I let a price be put on my word and I cannot die without letting the world know,” Myers said, as reported by The Mirror.

He insists that over 30 people, including Knight, police, medics and various witnesses were involved in helping make it happen. Myers further claims that the late rapper even paid $50,000 for a body double to be taken to the morgue. His claims come just weeks after the 19th anniversary of the "California Love" rapper's death.

Shakur died a week after sustaining gunshot injuries following a drive-by shooting on the Las Vegas strip. He was 25 years old and his killer’s identity remains a mystery. Ironically, Knight, who is currently incarcerated and served as the head of Death Row Records, believes he is still alive.

In May 2014, Knight shared his opinion saying if Shakur were really dead, an arrest would have been made by now.

"Why you think nobody been arrested if they said they the one killed Tupac...Because Tupac not dead," he told TMZ. "Tupac not dead, n*gga. If he was dead they'd be arresting those dudes for murder. You know he somewhere smoking a Cuban cigar on an island somewhere."

Coincidentally, Knight infamously drove the car carrying Shakur the night of the shooting. He has also been linked to the death of N.W.A. rapper, Eazy-E.
