Seems like the cast of 'Love & Hip-Hop' has drama both on and off camera. Benzino is the latest to make headlines as he is recovering from gunshot wounds.
The rapper was reportedly shot multiple times yesterday (March 29) at his mother's funeral in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
According to Vibe magazine, the shooting took place after a family feud came to a boiling point.
The magazine's site reports that 7News reporter Adam Harding broke the story via Twitter, reporting that Benzino was shot by his 36 year-old nephew, Gai Scott.
There was apparently some longstanding tension between the two prior to the incident.
Harding also tweeted that the rapper-turned-reality-star is expected to survive the shooting and is in stable condition.
Scott has been arrested and charged with assault with the intent to murder.
The Associated Press reports that Benzino was traveling on Route 3 south of Boston when Scott pulled alongside and fired several shots into a red SUV driven by the rapper.
Scott will be arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Monday (March 31).
Reports from Billboard say that no one outside the funeral noticed anything was wrong until the priest noticed blood on the hearse when it reached the church.
Hip-Hop Weekly posted a statement on its site. It reads, "We all know that Benzino was in Boston to bury his mother and during the funeral procession, he was shot in his arm and grazed by a bullet on his back when his nephew, Gai Scott,(36) opened fire on him from his car, into the car Benzino was driving. Right now, he's in stable condition now at South Shore hospital in Weymouth, MA. His fiance Thi Thi, Stevie J, his partner and longtime friend Dave Mays are all by his side.
