The global music community is rallying around rock group Eagles of Death Metal following the terrorist attack on the band's Paris show Friday night, and one online campaign is trying to help by vying to get the band's cover of Duran Duran's "Save A Prayer" to No. 1 on the UK charts.

At least 118 died at the band's concert Friday night (November 13) as part of a string of coordinated attacks by ISIS around the city.

Many musicians thus far have spoken out about the incident including U2 frontman Bono, Madonna, Frank Ocean and The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach. This online campaign, started through Facebook and Twitter, is meant to be a show of support for the band in this tragic time when so many people have died, according to the group's Facebook page. Any royalties assumed would go to Duran Duran the page points out, but claims this is not a campaign for financial gain or profit, just a sign of support.

Duran Duran recently sang the song with Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes on the British variety show TFI Friday, as the groups were both on promotional tours for their recently released albums before the attack. Eagles of Death Metal have confirmed it is cancelling the remainder of its tour.

When NME first reported on the group, it had only 1,345 backers, but since then has grown modestly to more than 5,500 likes on Facebook (as of publish time of this article). The group is encouraging people to purchase the cover, which appears on Eagles of Death Metal's latest release, Zipper Down, in order to get it to the top of the charts faster.

Duran Duran released the single in 1982 off one of the band's most celebrated albums, Rio. The band is currently on tour in support of its 2015 release of Paper Gods.
