Dutch EDM producer/DJ Nicky Romero has admitted he struggles with anxiety in a personal message posted via his artist Facebook account. Shortly after opening up about his mental health (don't worry: it ends on a positive note) the progressive house artist shared a video for 2014's "Lighthouse" which is the first installation of the Nicky Romero Trilogy. Watch the new video below.

As Your EDM reports, fans have been vocal regarding their discontentment with Romero's relatively quiet year regarding production, which prompted the #18 DJ in the world to post the frank statement regarding the mental health journey he has been through over the last couple of years.

As Dancing Astronaut points out, the 2012 track "Toulouse" earned the DJ near-instantaneous recognition as a household staple as well as his own sold-out world tour and the launch of his own label, Protocol Records. In the years that followed the artist found himself in what he calls the "flow," when one spends endless hours working towards one's dreams and goals. The creative flow combined with stardom brings with it sleepless nights, pressure coming from all directions and stress in general. For someone with anxiety, the whole cycle is only that much more exhausting.

After visiting at least 12 different therapists and other professionals in the past two and a half years, the artist did not find any solace until he came across Paul David's e-book At Last A Life which offered him some clarity in regard to his mental health. You can read the DJ's full statement below.

A personal message for everyone!

His last release was the audio of "Lighthouse" back in June 2014. The fact that he is only just releasing a video for the track a year and a half after it first dropped means it marks a new era for Romero. In the words of the press release that accompanied the video announcement the video is literally a "beacon of light for the artist, and the following two parts of the trilogy are sure to prove his full return. Part 2 features a collaboration with Nile Rodgers; Part 3 of the trilogy is due out in 2016.
