Brooklyn, New York native Fabolous has been on a roll over the past 12 months, releasing his The Young OG Project on Christmas 2014, while also prepping the follow-up exactly a year later. Keeping with the holiday release theme, he released a brand new mixtape Summertime Shootout on Thanksgiving that has features from the likes of The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz and Rich Homie Quan.
Production comes from a variety of sources like Sonaro, Automatik and Araab Muzik.
Unlike some of the other mixtapes that were released on Thanksgiving, Fabo keeps things at a manageable 12 tracks and actually implements some quality control on a mixtape.
Fabo's rhymes flow effortlessly over the smooth production that he gets from his various beatsmiths. Features from names like Trey Songz and Nicki Minaj add extra weight to this tape as Minaj provides some verses that bring her back to those same tape days that got her famous. He also gives his take on popular songs from The Weeknd, Bryson Tiller and remixes with Nicki and Trey Songz LL Cool J' 90s track "Doin It."
Summertime Shootout drops as a primer for Fabo's upcoming album The Young OG Project 2, which is set to drop on Christmas Day.
