Covers of Adele's "Hello" continue to pop up as the song continues to lead the charts for several weeks. The latest and unexpected take on the 25 track comes from Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez, who delivers an intimate version of the power ballad with just a microphone and guitar.

Conan O'Brien's Team CoCo website dropped the Sanchez rendition of "Hello," which featured a toned down, acoustic spin on the radio hit instead of the overly theatrical and hefty performances we're used to seeing with his sci-fi adventure focused group.

"For my mother, who told me the new Coheed record is just as good, if not better, than the new Adele," Sanchez said in a message. "Honestly, what else is a mother supposed to say to her son? I love you, mom."

Girl Meets World's Sabrina Carpenter, "Cool for the Summer" singer Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas' group DNCE are just a handful of other artists to tackle covers of "Hello."

Back in October, Coheed and Cambria decided to half their ongoing sci-fi concept for their latest studio album, The Color Before the Sun. The story of "The Armory Wars" has unraveled from the group's 2002 debut album The Second Stage Turbine Blade up to 2013's The Afterman: Descension.

"I kind of want people to know that Coheed can write that sort of record," he said in a statement, speaking of the switch of direction. "I've always said in the past that there's never been a limitation on the band. It makes no sense to me to draw a line in the sand and never cross it."

After the announcement that Coheed and Cambria would embark on a U.S. and European tour for the rest of 2015, news of an impending joint tour with recently returned Glassjaw quickly followed.
