Ultra Music Festival shared their initial 2016 lineup this week and along with that announcement came the news that Pendulum will be reuniting for the Miami event. The group confirmed via Twitter that the reunion set will be live.

Festival organizers emphasized the news on Facebook, writing "Pendulum RETURNS (yes, you read that correctly)," Billboard reports. The forthcoming reunion marks the Pendulum live band's official return after going on hiatus in 2012. This week, the group also changed its website and social media pages to feature an image stating "Stay tuned for important news!" Between that, and the Ultra lineup announcement, fans can't help but have a ton of questions.

As Your EDM reminds us, the band was contracted for another album. Could this reunion mean they're finally getting back in the studio together? If they do drop another album, would a tour soon follow?

To break things down for those who have not been following the drum'n'bass hardcore fusion group particularly closely over the years, back in 2011 bandmates Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen split-off to become Knife Party. Meanwhile, Paul Harding and Ben Mount have been continuing to perform DJ sets under the moniker Pendulum. So while the group has technically headlined plenty of festivals in the past few years, it hasn't been the original live lineup in ages.

The news is especially exciting in light of various public comments made by Rob Swire in interviews and on social media stating how his heart wasn't in the project any longer. With Swire publically denouncing all that the band stood for (or at least saying he wasn't really feeling drum'n'bass or live electronic-rock fusion anymore), many assumed that the live incarnation of the group was a thing of the past. Fortunately, as the folks over at UKF point out, Swire himself legitimized the hype on Twitter.
