After a delay in his Washington D.C. assault trial, singer Chris Brown will face at least another week behind bars.

CNN reports that Brown will remain in Los Angeles County Jail for at least another week as his lawyer mulls over his possible probation violation with the prosecutor.

Hours following a cross-country trip from Washington to Los Angeles on the federal government's inmate transport system, also known as "Con Air," Brown attended a hearing Thursday (May 1).

Mark Geragos, Brown's lawyer, spoke highly of him telling CNN, "He's doing remarkably well under the circumstances. It's a challenging situation to be in."

Geragos and Assistant District Attorney Mary Murray will hold talks over the next week. They plan to discuss Brown possibly admitting that he violated his probation.

If that happens, an announcement will be made at a hearing next Friday. If not, the judge will set a date for a trial on his probation revocation.

"I'm hoping we get it resolved and we get it resolved quickly," Geragos reportedly said after the hearing.

Brown's probation for the 2009 beating of ex-girlfriend pop singer Rihanna Fenty was revoked after his Washington assault arrest.

CNN also reports that just last week the prosecutor said she would "strenuously object" to Brown being released because it appears likely Brown will be found guilty of the assault charge in Washington.

Brown's bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, has already been found guilty in the assault case.

Both were arrested on assault charges in Washington for allegedly beating a man who tried to take a photo with Brown last October.
