Last week, Shy Glizzy decided to tweet about the recent chain-snatching incident he was involved in and now he’s addressing the situation on a new song, “Cut It (Remix).”

Just days before Christmas, the Washington D.C. rapper came under fire after footage of Memphis rapper Big Mota and his crew flashing Glizzy’s chain hit social media. After an attempt to set the record straight on Twitter, Glizzy opted to talk about it in his raps.

The 4-minute clip kicks off with a snippet of an interview with Big Mota in which he expresses his desire to work with the “Awesome rapper. Things then shift gears to a soundbite from the video posted after the aforementioned incident.

On the track, Glizzy reiterates that he was two deep when things went down and writes Mota and his camp off as a bunch of haters. He also throws in a line for those slamming him online.

“Do you know how to feel to get respect n*gga? / Then n*ggas wanna do sh*t cuz they next n*gga / Oh you seen me on them blogs you thought I got checked didn't ya / That ain't your dog if he can't go hit the set with you.”

Elsewhere, Glizzy takes some pointed shots at DJ Akademiks, who chimed in via social media, and makes claims that his chain fell off his neck and when it hit the ground "broke boys had a f*cking scrimmage."

On Sunday (Dec. 20), Memphis rapper Big Mota shared a since deleted clip on Instagram explaining why he took Glizzy's chain. According to Mota, the “Funeral-” rapper declined to collaborate on a song. He later stated that he wanted $50,000 for its return.

As noted by XXL, “Cut It” is a remix of the track by the same name on O.T. Genesis’ Rhythm & Bricks. The original version features Young Dolph, who hails from Memphis.    DJ Akademiks responded to the lyrical jab on Twitter.
