American Idol has always been about making a superstar out of someone undiscovered, but for its 15th and final season, FOX enlisted one of music's biggest producers and rappers for his own shot at the Idol crown: Kanye West. After months and months of teasers and snippets, on Tuesday (Jan. 5), just one day before the Idol premiere, West's full audition with "Gold Digger" has arrived online.

A smiling, faux-nervous West introduces himself as a producer from the South Side of Chicago. Saying that he wants to be a singer and rapper (while no one believes in him - his true backstory), he then says that he's going to perform an original composition in hopes to getting one of the coveted golden tickets. The song, which includes one of the judges' names (Jennifer Lopez) is "Gold Digger."

West then spits a verse of his standout Late Registration hit, including the line about JLo, and the judges proceed to lose their minds (especially Lopez).

All the while West is auditioning, his nervous wife Kim Kardashian is standing outside in the hall with host Ryan Seacrest. While the mogul says she believes in her husband's abilities, she said that she hasn't offered him any advice. We're sure West has plenty of tips to give himself, anyway.

Though West's faux Idol audition has been making its waves, the show itself is seeking its 15th and final winner this year. The new season of American Idol, which promises plenty of surprises and guests, will premiere on FOX on Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 8 p.m.
