Tycho has released the remix album to his 2014 album Awake. The nine-track package features the likes of Com Truise, RJD2, Vampire Weekend's Baio and Bibio. This comes ahead of a short and sweet club tour that Tycho will head out on next month.
The new remix package provides new and interesting takes on Tycho's album. The original was a stunning piece of ambient, electronica, post-rock that glides from start to finish. The new remixes play into those ethereal soundscapes, with some like the Christopher Willits remix that become even more ambient, while others like the Com Truise add some of the Colorado funktronica flavor to it. The remixes do not stray to far from the original melodies by Tycho, but each add their own vision to the tune.
The remix package will serve as a base for Tycho's upcoming DJ tour where he will play nine gigs in 11 days. He will perform at clubs in New York City, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago and elsewhere starting on Feb. 12. In addition to the various club show, Tycho has also been booked to play at CRSSD Festival in March.
