Utilizing a simple stage setup of a side table cluttered with a lamp and some knickknacks, Ryan Adams performed some soft and personal takes of his songs "My Wrecking Ball" and "Desire" for the TV series Austin City Limits.

The artist, who has covered Taylor Swift songs in the past, performed for the program, which is set to air this Sunday January 17, with fellow Americana stompers Shakey Graves opening for the duo's first set on the program.

This performance follows the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Alabama Shakes, who have both performed for the series this 2016 season, with more to come from Angélique Kidjo, Sleater-Kinney, Heartless Bastards, Leon Bridges, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats and Tedeschi Trucks Band.

As the organizers have with previous shows this season, fans can get an early brief taste of the full episode that is set to air this weekend. This week's treats come from Stereogum with the premier of "My Wrecking Ball" and Rolling Stone debuting Adam's performance of "Desire."

Not to be confused with the Miley Cyrus tune of a similar name, "My Wrecking Ball" comes off the singer songwriter's 2014 critically acclaimed self-titled album with all its calm, yet devastating, lyrical power. Adams has his long straight hair draped over his face and patch-ridden jean jacket on as he emotionally takes fans through a simple acoustic set that manages to be twice the size of his shy stage persona.

The story for his performance of "Desire" is no different. The song comes off his 2002 album Demolition and, according to Rolling Stone, it's Adam's manager's favorite song. The singer details the long relationship he and his manager have shared over the years and dedicates the song to him, saying, "I don't even think Anne Murray would touch this song. She would go, 'Too soft rock.'"

The series runs on PBS broadcasting Sunday at 9 p.m. Check your local listings for exact details.
